Planned celebrations of the restoration of the Cathedral.

May 2012

• Work on new external lighting for front of Cathedral commences.
• 7th to 11th - Beef Australia 2012, Rockhampton Showgrounds - Drop by our stand in the Walter Pearce Pavillion during Beef Week.
• Concreting of gathering area between Cathedral and Cathedral Centre Admin begins.
• Interior repair work continues around the separation joint of the old and new sections.
• External statues put back in place on new plinths.

April 2012

• Thursday 26th - Story on how nearly complete interior restoration helped local couple choose Cathedral as location for wedding, in Rockhampton's Morning Bulletin. See article here.
• Replacement sandstone plinths for external statues being erected.
• Monday 23rd - Story on restoration works and appeal, and photograph with Bishop Brian, in Rockhampton's Morning Bulletin. See article here.
• Sunday 22nd - renewal of the Cathedral Appeal by Bishop Heenan seeking your support in funding the restoration works so that we can hand on to future generations a beautiful and inspiring Cathedral for our Diocese. See Message from our Bishop.
• Concreting of front footpath, new driveways and car park walkway underway.
  

March 2012

• Majority of scaffolding removed from interior of Cathedral, with major work around the Sanctuary now complete.
• Concreting continues around the exterior with work moving to the Cathedral Centre side of the building.
• Tamarind trees from Cathedral Centre side relocated, under advice of an abortist, due to tree health issues.
